CO2 Cartridges
CO2 cartridges are all the same idea — compressed carbon dioxide in a steel shell, released in one quick burst. What changes is the gram size (how much gas) and the neck (threaded vs. non-threaded). Get those two right and you're set.
Pick your size
- 8–12g — soda siphons, airsoft/BB guns, life-jacket re-arm kits, budget bike inflators
- 16g — the workhorse: HVAC condensate drain guns and most road/gravel bike tires
- 25–45g — high-volume jobs: stubborn drain lines, MTB and fat-bike tires
- 74g — the largest, for repeated or heavy-duty inflation
Threaded or non-threaded?
If your tool screws onto the cartridge, you need threaded (3/8″-24 UNF). If the cartridge drops into a sleeve and is pierced when you tighten the cap, you need non-threaded — they are not interchangeable. Not sure which you have? Use the Cartridge Finder.
